Tankers 910 and 911 are maintained and
operated by 10 Tanker Air Carrier of Victorville, CA. The crews consist of two pilots and a flight
engineer. Each aircraft can hold 12,000 gals of retardant and use a computerized gravity-feed water dump system that is a modified and scaled-up version of the system used by Erickson Air-Crane on its S64 helicopter. The drop
rate is controlled from the
cockpit and they have complete or split-drop capabiltiies.
Tanker 910 is under contract for exclusive
use of CAL FIRE. Tanker 911 is currently in the process of certification for use by CAL FIRE.
These photos were taken at the 10 Tanker
